High School Art Class
This is a six weeks class with the goal of learning that painting with watercolor is a lot of fun. I will teach 5 different watercolor techniques, basic pen and ink styles and color theory. For $11.00 I can purchase the materials needed to succeed at this class. At the bottom of this page is a broken down list of the costs in case you already have the supplies on hand. If you plan on supplying your own paints and brushes, I can not stress enough, the importance of giving your child GOOD QUALITY materials. There are a lot of worthless watercolor paints out there. So often students tell me that they can not paint, and when I see what they have to work with, then I know why. There will also be a $5.00/ class instruction fee. Thirty dollars for a 6 week class. If you have more than one child, any additional child is $25.
The only home work for the class will be to occasionally bring a visual aid such as a picture or a model of something of interest. I will also try and introduce the next week's project at the end of each lesson so that they have time to think and plan about the next class, so thinking and planning will be required also. If a student runs out of time in class they will be allowed to take things home to finish.
Hopefully at the end of six weeks your child will have 4 paintings and perhaps a hand painted greeting card or two that they will be proud to call their own. More then just these physical signs of accomplishment, I hope that your child will have learned some artistic techniques and confidence along with a love for art.
