Each class participant needs a 3 ring binder and paper notebook. (This notebook should be exclusive to the marketing class)
For the first class we will have a discussion about entrepreneurship vs. employment. This exercise will help determine the current mindset and develop new thought processes about business.

1. What characteristics do you think an entrepreneur vs. employee has?
2. What do you think the behavior and actions are that make someone successful?
3. Why would someone want to be self employed and run their own business? (Why not?)
4. What would be the downside if any to running your own business?
5. What do you believe the reasons would be for a business to fail?
6. What gets you excited about owning your own business? (What are your fears?)
We will discuss the basic business terms that will be used frequently within the first six weeks, what they mean and how it applies to their business.
