Math U See
0 Comments

Website: Direct Link for Missouri
Age Group: From Primer to Calculus

Pricing: Varies but average is $40 per kit
Kit includes teachers guide, instructional video and student workbook.
You can buy blocks separate which can then be used with multiple students.
They have a few add ons which are optional and reasonable in price.

Learning Style: It appears that the program appeals to textile learners

Pros: You have a short video that you can watch before starting the work for the day. This is especially helpful for those parents who don't excel in math. The worksheets are short and are done on the basis of mastery.

Cons: If you have several children it can become difficult to watch all the videos for the day. Kids who accelerate in math may think the blocks and videos are holding them back from finishing faster.

Comments: I have been happy with Math U See even though I do not use it for all of my children. I wish they all liked it. I do use the program for 1/2 of my students. I find it easy to use, understand and effective in teaching the actual why / how of mathematics. I have used it for elementary and middle school but not upper levels. I have heard that there are several math programs preferred at the upper levels over Math U See.
